Doc, you're a scientist...
[ Set The Mood - L'Amoureuse by Carla Bruni ]
Home sick from school. Came home early yesterday. Sunday was a purdy crap day, but I will not go into it. All I know is that you can be happy and distracted by making some damn good food with Sarah Morrin. Finished both The Lovely Bones and Alice in Wonderland (The Movie Book) yesterday out of severe boredom. I was intoxicated from fatigue though, so I question how long I'll remember the plots. The Lovely Bones has to be strongly recommended - It is not as gory or boring as professional critics say. It gets sappy at some points, but it is done with such nice use of vernacular that you don't really notice. I haven't seen the movie, but according to my sister, major parts of the book were removed or switched around. Alice in Wonderland seemed like a hastily strewn together book, that simply outlines a basic synopsis of the movie that is released in cinemas on Friday (and I am seeing in town on Saturday) without any complicated imagery or intriguing rhymes. I really do hope the movie itself is better. The other thing I read yesterday was Look magazine, and I've fallen in love with two trends this season: the apt 'Alice in Wonderland' trend and the pastel-gold trend. Gingham dresses, pocket-watch necklaces, rabbit print t-shirts and big blue bows available in high-street stores and on the web are my favourite, followed by the wide-spread invasion of soft pink tulip skirts, lemon cardigans, intricate gold chains and brooches, and dainty lilac patent shoes. This season, I wish I had money.
I have decided to stop bothering with people I fancy or people who fancy me. Que sera, sera. I hate how I'm expected to be a flimsy, girly sheep who falls into a boy's arms as soon as he is vaguely attracting to them. As far as I can remember, I've never done that. I always attempt to distance myself from said male/female but fail, and act like a dork. Even so, I'd prefer to be a dork than a spineless idiot. I have my own damn brain, thanks, and I don't care if it occasionally forgets to function. Speaking of which, my mocks are coming back. Surprising 35% in Maths Paper I. 61% in French. 49% in Science, I think. My parentals keep inquiring whether the exams are back yet, and I lie my ass off. Besides, I have been limited to, get this, a generous day outside per week. How am I supposed to stay sane? Honestly! It's just the Junior Cert. I'll get a C in everything anyway, don't worry. Okay, I hope I do. Positivity fail. Forgotten all about that listy thing. Oh well, I'll read over it
later.
Right now, I think I'll go off and watch a bitta televisiones.
Comment please.
Only 3 last time. More, more, more?
